Thought for the Day--February 22, 2011: Insulin Resistance and Disappointment

If you are insulin resistant, you may be able to reverse its main symptom of extreme hunger (without going on an extreme low carb diet) by eating well-balanced small meals and snacks every two to four hours. I offer no scientific evidence for this claim, just my own personal experience: after five months of eating right (fewer calories that include lean proteins, fruits, seeds and nuts, vegetables, and, yes, complex carbs), I'm beginning to feel satisfied at longer intervals between meals and snacks. Of course, we're all different and, therefore, your body may react differently. It's always a good idea to check with your physician. One disappointment to report: I tried to finish up my book before leaving for Macedonia (tomorrow), but I just couldn't do it. My fault: I started the project too late. I decided that the best thing to do is just let it go for now-- and get cracking on it when I return from Macedonia. Just movin' on!
